This project is a 20-30 minute documentary about a Vietnamese family separated by deportation. The film is an educational project aimed at increasing awareness of the issue of deportation, while also raising funds to pay for post-conviction relief legal fees in hopes of sending Chuh home to his family, and to save up for family trips to Vietnam to visit Chuh.

The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRAIRA) and the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act (AEDPA) are directly responsible for expanding incarceration of immigrants, creating a fast track for deportations without due process, setting the foundation for local police and ICE collaborations and making legal immigration much more difficult. We believe that immigration reform is incomplete without a reform of these 1996 laws.
